ANKARA
Prime Ministry Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency (AFAD) reported that 500 people were stranded due to showers in Trabzon, a northern city in Turkey, and were rescued.
In a statement released, AFAD stated that upon the heavy rain in Trabzon 500 people were stranded but then rescued by AFAD teams. Rescuers also recovered a body of a person who had been reported missing in Yorma county's Tasdelen Village while rescue operations for another missing person continued. The developments in the region are followed by AFAD 24 hours a day.
