Galatasaray will try to reach knock out stage of UEFA Champions League with a win against Italian giants Juventus in a fortnight after last night's heavy defeat against Real Madrid.
Things looked positive for Galatasaray when Real Madrid squad did not have a few of their stars, especially striker Ronaldo on the pitch when the game started. A rather early 26th minute dismissal of Sergio Ramos also gave hope to Turkish champions. Things really started to look good when Umut Bulut responded in 38th minute to a spectacular free kick goal by Real Madrid's most expensive star Garreth Bale in 36th minute. However, the 10-men Real Madrid dominated in position production for the rest of the game and scored three more goals as Arbeloa, Di Maria and Isco contributed the final score: 4 - 1.
Galatasaray are now waiting for the last match day in group stages in order to win a rather steamy clash against Italian champions Juventus in two weeks.
Real Madrid, Manchester United, Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich have already qualified out of the groups after Day-5 group matches of the UEFA Champions League.
The soccer teams to get through in UEFA Champions League will be decided after the final games in the groups.
Ahead of the last group games, Real Sociedad and Anderlecht have lost chances to continue in UEFA Europa League as they can't finish third in the groups.
Manchester City overcame the Victorica Plzen 4-2 as the result is unlikely to help City to hit top spot in Group D.
