ANKARA
Responding to a Parliamentary motion, Environment & Urbanization Minister Erdogan Bayraktar said that 131,539 foreigners had a total of 46,530 real estate in Turkey.
Foreigners mostly preferred to own real estate in Istanbul with 4,357, northwestern Bursa province with 3,962 and southern Antalya province with 2,941, said Bayraktar.
He noted that foreigners did not have any real estate in southeastern provinces of Bitlis and Hakkari.
Real estates had been sold to foreigners in Turkey since 1934, he added.
