International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) President Joseph Blatter issued a message of condolence on Friday over the death of Turkey's Eskisehirspor football club player Ediz Bahtiyaroglu.
In a letter to the President of the Turkish Football Federation, Blatter stated that he would like to say how shocked he was to hear of the untimely death of the player Ediz Bahtiyoroglu after a heart attack at the age of 26.
"As you know, FIFA is continuing to make every effort to investigate the cause of tragic incidents such as the case of Ediz Bahtiyaroglu and prevent them from occurring in the future. On behalf of FIFA and the worldwide football family, I wish to extend our condolences to you, to the Turkish football community and, most importantly, to Ediz's family, friends and loved ones," said Blatter in the letter.
