Far-left terror suspect remanded in Turkey
DHKP-C suspect accused of being top member of terrorist group in capital Ankara

ANKARA
A suspected member of the far-left DHKP-C terrorist group was remanded in custody by a Turkish court on Tuesday, according to judicial sources.
The 7th Penal Court of Peace in the capital Ankara remanded Ilhan K., accused of being a top member of the terrorist group in Ankara, said the sources, who spoke on condition of anonymity due to restrictions on talking to the media.
The suspect was arrested on March 20 by police counter-terrorism units at a Middle East Technical University facility in Ankara.
The DHKP-C is responsible for a number of terror attacks in Turkey, including a 2013 attack on the U.S. Embassy in Ankara which martyred a Turkish security guard and injured a Turkish journalist.
