European Commission welcomed PKK's decision to withdraw from Turkey.
European Commissioner for enlargement Stefan Fule's spokesman Peter Stano said on Thursday that the decision of PKK to withdraw from Turkey was pleasing.
This decision is a new step on the road to end terrorism and to bring peace and prosperity to all citizens of Turkey, he added.
Earlier on Thursday, Murat Karayilan, one of the heads of PKK terrorist organization, said that PKK was set to begin withdrawing from Turkey on May 8.
The withdrawal announcement follows a call by PKK's jailed leader Abdullah Ocalan for ceasefire as part of talks with Turkish intelligence officials to end nearly three decades of armed conflict that killed tens of thousands of people.
