"The opening of European Bank for Reconstruction and Development's (EBRD) representation in Gaziantep after the offices in Istanbul and Ankara is an important development for the Gaziantep province," says Chariman of Gaziantep Chamber of Commerce Eyup Bartik on Thursday.
Stressing the positive meeting with EBRD's Turkey desk chief Michael Davey, Bartik said that the opening of the EBRD's office inGaziantep was also important for the promotion of Gaziantep's trade.
Since the establishment in 1991, EBRD has become the largest financial investor in the region of operations which stretches from central Europe to central Asia and the southern and eastern Mediterranean. With the ability and willingness to bear risk on behalf of the clients, EBRD helps its countries in the region to become open, market economies. EBRD is owned by 64 countries, the European Union and the European Investment Bank.
