A DHKP-C terror suspect trying to flee Turkey was arrested on Thursday, security sources said.

Acting on a tip, security teams stopped the suspect from illegally crossing into Greece through Turkey’s northwestern Edirne province, said the sources, requesting anonymity due to restrictions on speaking to the media.

The suspect, identified by the initials M.O., was attempting to reach Europe via Greece, the sources added.

The far-left DHKP-C is responsible for a number of terror attacks in Turkey, including a 2013 assault on the US Embassy in Ankara, in which a Turkish security guard was martyred.

The terror group is listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the US, and the EU.
