Turkey's Deputy Prime Minister Bulent Arinc believes that President Gul's order to the State Audit Board (DDK) will deliver a positive outcome for the country.
Arinc said that the State's Audit Board is directly linked to the Presidency and that the DDK's reports have had great importance in the past as well, speaking at the ‘600 years’ of Turkey-Poland Relations’ symposium on Wednesday
"We will see the reports' results after it will be shared with public. This is our President's order and I believe it will deliver a positive outcome for our country," he said.
On Tuesday, Turkey’s President Abdullah Gul ordered Turkey’s State Audit Board (DDK) to launch investigations into five topics, to ascertain whether the state apparatus has the legal capacity to oversee wiretapping regulations, fight corruption and deal with irregularities in urban rent.
"600 years of Turkey-Poland Relations" symposium kicked off in Ankara on Wednesday. Delivering the opening speech, Deputy Prime Minister Bulent Arinc talked about historic relations between Turkey and Poland and said that this year-long events will be beneficial for Turkey's EU accession process.
Meanwhile, prominent Turkish historian Halil Inalcik also gave a speech about Poland - Ottoman Empire relations in the symposium as well.
Turkey's President Gul and Poland's President Komorowski are expected to deliver speech in the symposium.
