Death toll rises to 6 in helicopter crash

ANKARA

One more Turkish soldier passed away after helicopter crash which killed 5 Turkish soldiers and wounded 7 others in the eastern province of Hakkari on July 23.

Turkish General Staff said on July 23 that a S-70 helicopter that belonged to Gendarmerie General Command crashed due to a technical failure near the town of Yuksekova of eastern province of Hakkari.
Turkish Armed Forces (TSK) stated that the helicopter was down due to power dissipation while it was landing. Following the accident, martyrs and wounded soldiers were taken to Yuksekova. 
Lieutenant Baris Kirici was one of those wounded seven soldiers and being treated in a military hospital following the crash. He lost the battle of life on Tuesday in Ankara.
Turkish Speaker of the Parliament Cemil Cicek, Turkish Deputy Prime Minister Bulent Arinc, Chief of General Staff Gen. Necdet Ozel, Turkish Minister of National Defense Ismet Yilmaz, leader of MHP Devlet Bahceli and many other officials and soldiers attended Kirici's funeral ceremony at the Kocatepe Mosque in Ankara on Wednesday.
