Turkish Football Federation reached a large majority decision about a possible rematch of the controversial competition which was played between Kasimpasa and Besiktas on matchday 15 of the Turkish Spor Toto Super League.
Turkish Football Federation press agent Mete Duren said, "Turkish Football Federation's Board of Executives decided by a large majority that the match will be played again" and added that the kick-off time would be determined in following days.
Upon the rematch decision, Besiktas Vice President Ahmet Nur Cebi said "Justice was served." However, Hilmi Oksuz - serving as Kasimpasa's deputy chairman - stated that the club's legal experts had been working on the topic and would issue a press release shortly.
In the controversial match, Kasimpasa's Dutch centre-back Ryan Donk grabbed the ball coming off the pitch and hit the ball in control of Besiktas' towering Portuguese centre forward Hugo Almeida in the penalty box at the 30th minute, thus intercepting the Besiktas attack. After the match, Besiktas' board appealed to the Federation for a rematch. Kasimpasa had won the controversial match 2-1.
