ANKARA
Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu held a busy telephone diplomacy prior to his Amman visit to attend the Friends of the Syrian People Group's "core" meeting.
According to diplomatic sources, Davutoglu held separate phone calls with the foreign ministers of Jordan, United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Qatar on Tuesday evening.
Previously on Tuesday, Davutoglu held a bilateral meeting with the foreign minister of Saudi Arabia in Ankara.
During his phone calls foreign ministers discussed the latest developments from Syria prior to the "core" meeting of Friends of the Syrian People Group which will take place in Jordan's capital Amman on Wednesday.
Furthermore, Davutoglu also held a phone call with the Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu and mainly discussed the situation in Myanmar, sources added,
On Wednesday, foreign ministers from a number of countries of the Friends of the Syrian People Group will come together in Jordan's capital Amman.
