Number of PKK terrorists who have surrendered this year has reached 29
Turkish security forces have convinced another terrorist to lay down arms and surrender, the Interior Ministry announced on Tuesday.
According to a statement by the ministry, through coordinated efforts of the police and gendarmerie forces, one PKK terrorist has been convinced to lay down arms and surrendered.
The terrorist joined the terror group in 2019 and was active in Syria, the statement noted.
The number of PKK terrorists who have surrendered through persuasion this year has reached 29, it added.
In its more than 35-year terror campaign against Turkey, the PKK – listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the US, and the European Union – has been responsible for the deaths of at least 40,000 people, including women, children, and infants. The YPG is the PKK’s Syrian branch.
