At least 11 people have been detained in the Turkish capital Ankara early Monday for allegedly being recruiters for Daesh terrorist group.

According to security sources, the early morning operation by anti-terror squads from Ankara Police Department targeted suspects nestled in central Ulus town upon charges of recruiting for Daesh and having links with the Daesh forces on the ground.

Turkey lists Daesh as a terrorist group.

On Jan. 12, a suspected Daesh suicide bomber killed 10 people -- mostly German tourists -- and wounded 15 others at Istanbul's Sultanahmet district.

On Oct. 10, 2015, twin suicide bombings killed 103 people during a rally outside capital Ankara's main train station. The attack was blamed on Daesh.

Over 30 people were killed and 104 others were wounded when a suicide bomber detonated an explosive belt in Suruc town of the southeastern province of Sanliurfa in July 2015.
