Angola’s foreign minister will pay an official visit to Turkey on Saturday, Ankara announced on Friday.

Manuel Domingos Augusto’s visit will be the first at the foreign ministry level, the Turkish Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

All aspects of bilateral relations between Turkey and Angola would be discussed during the meeting, along with regional issues, according to the statement.

Official relations started between the two countries in April 2010 with the opening of Turkish Embassy in Angolan capital of Luanda and an Angolan Embassy following suit in Ankara in April 2013.

An agreement signed on August 22, 2008 constitutes the basis of the commercial and economic relations between the two countries.

On July 11-12, 2017, Turkey and Angola held their first Joint Economic Commission meeting in Luanda.

The official bilateral trade volume between the two countries reached approximately $188 million in 2017.
