Anadolu Agency is here with a rundown of the latest developments around the world. 

Australia confirmed its first case of monkeypox in the state of Victoria while another is under investigation in Sydney, said officials.

Belgian health authorities will hold an emergency meeting after the second case of monkeypox was detected there within 24 hours.

The first case of the virus has been confirmed in the Paris region, according to the Health Ministry, as the infection spreads around the world.

The number of cases in the UK has more than doubled, the British health secretary confirmed.

The Iberian Peninsula is home to the two largest confirmed outbreaks of monkeypox in Europe, with Spain confirming 30 cases and Portugal detecting 23.

Monkeypox killed at least 58 people and infected more than 1,200 others in the Democratic Republic of the Congo since the beginning of 2022, said the World Health Organization, as cases have climbed in the European and North American nations.

At least four people were stabbed in a knife attack in southeastern Norway, said police.

At least 28,700 Russian soldiers have been killed during the war in Ukraine, according to the Ukrainian military.

The European Commission announced an additional €22 million ($23.3 million) in humanitarian aid for the Rohingya community.

The UK lifted all restrictions on arms exports to Turkiye, said the head of the Turkish Defense Industries Presidency.

An extremely rare and vintage Mercedes-Benz sold for a record €135 million ($142 million) at an auction to become the world's most expensive car, according to RM Sotheby's.
