ANKARA
The Anadolu Agency has launched a project called "AA Elections 2015" to release the results of Turkey's upcoming parliamentary elections on June 7.
With its experience from the last two elections in the country -- the March 2014 local elections and the August 2014 presidential election - the agency's professional team has finalized preparations in its software, technical and personnel infrastructure.
Results, percentages of votes as well as voter turnout from June elections - both from the polls at home and abroad - will be broadcasted in a fast and reliable manner, with comparisons to the previous parliamentary polls in 2011.
Outside Turkey, ballot boxes will be set up in 54 countries, in 112 representations, for Turkish nationals living abroad who can cast their votes between May 8 and May 31.
AA has also made reinforcements in the number of journalists and data providers so as to meet the expected huge demand from other media.
The agency's team has devised a special software program to efficiently transfer data to subscriber media outlets.
The election results, accompanied by related graphics, will be instantly transmitted to the subscribers in the agency's eight broadcast languages on the website specially developed for the elections, as well as on its official website.
Political parties' share of votes will be broadcast. The victorious candidates will be announced, along with photos and their detailed profiles via a specific databank, currently in the works.
AA experience in last two elections
The agency has already proved itself in following Turkey's latest local and presidential elections in 2014.
Some 85 percent of the media institutions in Turkey had subscribed to AA's special broadcast "Local Elections 2014." It was also closely followed by the country's political parties and the international media.
The official results announced by Turkey's Supreme Elections Board YSK confirmed the authenticity of the results broadcasted by the agency.
About 56 million Turkish citizens will vote in the country's 25th general elections to elect 550 members of Parliament.
A total of 54,812,423 people are registered to vote in Turkey while 1,103,258 people will be able to cast their votes outside the country.
The Anadolu Agency has 1,450 subscriptions in 45 countries and publishes news in eight languages.
AA currently broadcasts in Turkish, English, Arabic, French, Kurdish, Bosnian, Croatian and Serbian (BCS), Russian, and Albanian.
The agency aims to become one of the world's most influential agencies by 2020, as part of its centennial vision.
