Turkey’s Justice and Development (AK) Party has initiated disciplinary proceedings against one of its district-level member for her comments on social media about Saturday’s Istanbul blast, which killed at least four people and injured 36 others, a party official said.
Hatice Yucel, who heads Istanbul's Eyup district women's branch, tweeted that comments of party member Irem Aktas about blast victims of Israeli citizens do not reflect AK Party's viewpoint.
The party has launched disciplinary proceedings against Aktas, which could result in the member's dismissal from the party, Yucel added.
