ANKARA
The Anadolu Agency (AA) held an annual assessment meeting for 2012 and planning meeting for 2013 in Kizilcahamam town of Ankara on Saturday and Sunday.
The meeting was attended by directors, editors, assistant editors and chief reporters of AA.
Delivering a speech on Saturday, AA Chairman of the Board and Director General Kemal Ozturk said that the AA aimed to be included in the five most influential news agencies of the world on the 100th anniversary of its establishment. It was a difficult goal but it could be achieved, he said, adding, "We saw with the AA's performance and figures in 2012 that the AA can reach this objective."
Arabic News Coordinator Turan Kislakci said that Arabic news desk produced 100 news stories a day in 2012 and they aimed to increase the figure to 200 a day in 2013.
"We aim to be number one, impartial, reliable and fast news agency in the Middle East and North Africa," he said.
World News Acting Editor Yusuf Kaya said that they would boost quality of news stories in 2013, stating that they would work to provide more number of news reports, photos and videos to AA's subscribers.
