Burkina Faso formerly as Upper Volta won independence from France in 1960. Located in west Africa, it has a population of 17 million and the 60 percent of the population of the country formed by Muslims.
Surrounded by Mali, Niger, Benin, Togo and Cote d'Ivoire, it's capital city is called Ouagadougou.
90 Percent of the population suffer from poverty and average monthly income of an employee is between 50-60 USD.
French is the official language of Burkina Faso.
As the state doesn't provide free education, most of the children are left illiterate.
Only 13 percent of the population is literate.
Burkina Faso's natural resources include manganese, gold and iron.
The country gives high investing and producing opportunities to interested businessmen.
Especially, the capital city Ouagadougou and the second largest city Bobo Dioulasso host rising buildings lately.
The building industry in the country can be called "almost primitive" and so the industry is open to investors.
Sakande Adama, a religious affairs official told AA that he went to Turkey twice and was impressed.
He stated that when they arrived to Turkey, they came across such a modern Islamic nation and said, "Turkish people were very friendly and warm. We would like to take Turkey as a "model" and apply it in our country."
Adama invited Turkish businessmen to Burkina Faso to invest.
