ISTANBUL
More than 90 passengers injured when an airplane skidded off the runway at an Istanbul airport were discharged from the hospital, Istanbul’s governor said Thursday.
Ali Yerlikaya said on Twitter: “92 of 180 passengers, who were injured due to the plane accident that took place at the Sabiha Gokcen International Airport, were discharged from the hospital as of 20.30 [1730GMT].”
He said 14 of 88 injured patients remain in intensive care.
Pegasus Airlines Flight PC2193 was landing from Izmir when it skidded off the runway Wednesday in inclement weather.
Three people died among the 177 passengers and six crew members.
The airport, which was closed after the accident, reopened early Thursday.
Prosecutors in Ankara have launched an investigation.
