A city-wide police operation has taken place in Istanbul.
Police sources say nearly 5,000 officers are involved in an extensive public security operation all across Turkey’s largest city.
During operations carried out in 39 districts of the city, police detained 192 suspects as well as seizing 21 unregistered guns, 3 shotguns, and over 2,000 ecstasy tablets.
The operation, named 'Yeditepe Huzur', saw police -- backed by helicopters -- take action on counter-terrorism, drug and narcotic control, financial crime, organized crime and smuggling.
Police searched locations identified beforehand, seizing criminal assets and making arrests.
