BATMAN/SANLIURFA, Turkey

Two PKK terrorist were “neutralized” by Turkish security forces in the country’s southeast.

According to a statement by Batman Governor’s Office, a terrorist, who was plotting an attack, was “neutralized” in a joint operation conducted by the National Intelligence Organization (MIT) and police.

As many as eight suspects were also detained in the operation, with three of them remanded in custody, the statement said.

Meanwhile, Sanliurfa’s Governor’s Office said in a separate statement that a PYD/PKK terrorist was also “neutralized” in the province on Monday.

In its more than 30-year terror campaign against Turkey, the PKK -- listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S. and the EU -- has been responsible for the deaths of 40,000 people, including women, children and infants. The terrorist YPG is the PKK's Syrian branch.
