Two people were killed Monday in a PKK terrorists attack in southeastern Turkey, local authorities said.
According a statement issued by the Hakkari governor’s office, a civilian vehicle carrying construction workers was hit struck by the blast of an improvised explosive device (IED) in Semdinli district.
More than 1,200 people, including security personnel and civilians, have lost their lives since the PKK -- listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S. and the EU -- resumed its decades-long armed campaign in July 2015.
