Twelve PKK terrorists have been killed in counter-terrorism operations in Turkey’s southeast, the military said Friday.
Reporting incidents from the previous day, a statement from the Turkish General Staff said four terrorists were killed in Nusaybin, Mardin province, and eight across neighboring Sirnak province.
Operations to counter the PKK, listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S. and EU, in the two regions have been running since mid-March.
The statement added that an 18-day counter-terror operation backed by a curfew in Sirnak had come to an end.
The PKK resumed its 30-year armed campaign against the Turkish state in July, since when more than 400 members of the security forces have been martyred and around 3,700 PKK terrorists killed.
