ISLAMABAD, Pakistan

The Turkish cultural center of the Yunus Emre Institute has staged a show for children in the northeastern city of Lahore on Monday.

The show titled “We are the future of world” was organized by the Turkish Embassy and the Yunus Emre Institute, was inaugurated by the speaker of the Punjab provincial assembly, Rana Muhammad Iqbal, and the director of the cultural center, Halil Toker.

Hundreds of children from the different schools in Punjab province and their families attended the event at the Alhamra Arts Council along with diplomats and government officials.

The basic aim behind such an activity is to promote harmony, peace and provide awareness to the Pakistani nation on the importance of children, said Toker.

The whole world knows that Turkish and Pakistanis are one nation living in two countries, Toker added.

Speaker Rana Iqbal applauded the Yunus Emre Institute for organizing the show and said these kinds of activities help promote children's rights and tell the coming generation about Turkey and Pakistan's brotherly relationship.

Presidential spokesman Farooq Adil also delivered President Mamnoon Hussain message on the occasion.

“No power could separate Pakistan and Turkey from each other [..],” Husain said in his message.

Turkey celebrates April 23 as the National Sovereignty and Children's Day.
