Turkish Airlines began Tuesday to operate direct flights from Istanbul to Zanzibar, a popular tourist destination in Tanzania.
In a statement, the Turkish flag-carrier said it would “work continually” to expand its network.
It is the airline’s third destination in Tanzania and its fiftieth across 32 African countries.
Turkish Airlines already offers flights to the Tanzanian capital Dar es Salaam and Kilimanjaro International Airport.
Flights between Turkey’s largest city and Zanzibar will operate three times a week, the airline said.
