Turkey sends condolences over N. Macedonia bus accident

ISTANBUL

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Thursday extended his condolences to North Macedonia over Wednesday's deadly bus accident.

In a statement, Erdogan said: “It was with great sadness that I learned 13 people were killed and 30 people were injured in a traffic accident in North Macedonia.”

“I offer my sympathies to the families of those who lost their lives, wish a speedy recovery to the injured, and extend my condolences to the brotherly people of North Macedonia,” the president added.

On late Wednesday, the passenger bus overturned on a highway linking the capital Skopje with the town of Tetovo killing at least 13 and injuring 30 others.

Earlier on Thursday, Turkish Foreign Ministry also sympathized with North Macedonia over the accident.

It expressed condolences to the families of people died and wish speedy recovery to those injured.
