Sixteen people were killed Friday morning in a Molotov cocktail attack on a nightclub in western Cairo, the Egyptian Ministry of Interior said in a statement.
The ministry said that three people on a motorcycle attacked the club in Ajouza district before fleeing the scene.
The suspects, who are still on the loose, were identified as disgruntled employees, according to police.
Cairo has not witnessed an attack of this nature in decades.
