Turkish taekwondo athlete Nur Tatar Askari topped the world and olympics rankings after scoring one bronze and one gold medal over the last three months.

Askari, who continues her career after a short retirement, is at the top of the world and olympics rankings in women's 67kg after winning gold medal in Tekvando Grand Prix Final in the United Arab Emirates last Friday.

"l accomplished a first in Turkish history and won the first gold medal in Tekvando Grand Prix Final," said Askari.

"l hope l will also become the champion in the 2020 Olympics," she said.

She is a European and World Champion and the first Turkish woman athlete who won medals in two Olympics.
