LOS ANGELES
It was "Turkish Night" at the Los Angeles Clippers basketball match against the Milwaukee Bucks in honor of retiring Clippers Forward Hedo Turkoglu and Bucks Forward Ersan Ilyasova.
In front of 19,000 fans a group of Turkish children welcomed the Turkish players before the game while at halftime the Staples stadium was treated to some Turkish music and at the conclusion of the match the Turkish players participated in a shooting contest.
Hedo Turkoglu spoke to an Anadolu Agency correspondent when he announced his retirement saying "It's time for me to move. It was a family decision. I have been playing for Turkish National Team for 16 years, I am thankful to all of my supporters."
Turkoglu could not score in the game as he pulled down 3 rebounds and dished an assist, but the LA Clippers still managed to win their 50th game this season beating the Milwaukee Bucks 106-98.
