ANKARA
Josef Sural, 28, a Czech striker for Turkish football club Alanyaspor, died of wounds sustained in a road accident early Monday, the club announced on Twitter.
The accident took place in the Mediterranean province of Antalya, when footballers on a minibus were returning from a Kayserispor away game.

Sural died in hospital. His fellow passengers included footballers Steven Caulker, Djalma Campos, Wanderson Baiano, Papiss Demba Cisse, Welinton Souza, and Isaac Sackey. Other players injured by the accident were also taken to hospital.
Turkey’s foreign minister has extended his condolences over the striker’s passing.
In a Monday phone call, Mevlut Cavusoglu offered his condolences to Czech Foreign Minister Tomas Petricek, according to diplomatic sources.
On Twitter, Cavusoglu also said he sent his deep condolences to Sural’s family and Alanyaspor and wished a speedy recovery to the injured players.
Cavusoglu is also expected to attend a funeral ceremony for Sural on Monday in Alanya, Antalya.
