Real Madrid win the battle against Bayern Munich

Spain's Real Madrid have defeated German team Bayern Munich 1-0 in their home ground Santiago Bernabeu Stadium in the first leg game of UEFA Champions League semi-final stage played.

Real Madrid were victorious  on Wednesday night thanks to a goal scored by their French forward Karim Benzema in the 19th minute of the clash.

Away team Bayern Munich could not score the equalizer despite having more possession of the ball during the game.

Real Madrid's Portuguese center-back Pepe was sidelined after colliding with his team-mate Iker Casillas in the second half.

With the result, Real Madrid are keeping their advantage before the return match in Munich on April 29.
