Luvo Manyonga sanctioned for missing 3 anti-doping tests in 12-month period
ANKARA
South African long jumper Luvo Manyonga, 30, was suspended Friday by the World Athletics sports governing body for violating anti-doping regulations.
In a tweet, the Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU) said: "The AIU has charged Luvo Manyonga of South Africa for whereabouts failures, a violation of the @WorldAthletics Anti-Doping Rules. The long jumper has been provisionally suspended,"
The athlete was sanctioned for missing three anti-doping tests in a 12-month period.
Manyonga became world champion in 2017 and won a silver medal in the 2016 Rio Olympics.
