Formula 1 on Wednesday agreed a multi-year extension with the Belgian Grand Prix.

"The Belgian Grand Prix was one of the races that made up our maiden Championship in 1950, so as we kick off our 75th anniversary year it is fitting that we can share the news of this important extension," Stefano Domenicali, the president and CEO of Formula 1, said in a statement.

The extension, covering Grands Prix in the 2026, 2027, 2029, and 2031 seasons, follows substantial recent investments in the circuit.

These include the addition of two new grandstands, boosting capacity by 10,000, and improvements to off-track entertainment and the overall fan experience.

"Spa-Francorchamps is rightly lauded by drivers and fans alike as one of the finest racetracks in the world and it has played host to some incredible moments over its many seasons in Formula 1. In recent years it has undergone significant work to improve the facility and overall fan experience, and I would like to pay tribute to the promoter and the Government of Wallonia for their dedication and passionate support for Formula 1 in Belgium," Domenicali added.

The 2025 Belgian Grand Prix, scheduled for July 25-27, will feature the return of the F1 Sprint, offering fans an action-packed weekend with thrilling racing entertainment across all three days.

Constructed in 1921, the Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps in Stavelot was one of the original seven circuits included in Formula 1's inaugural championship in 1950.

Since then, it has hosted 57 Grands Prix on its 7-kilometer (4.3-mile) track, with races spanning 44 laps.
