Former Galatasaray player Harry Kewell to retire
Galatasaray's former player Harry Kewell from Australia retires from professional football on April 12.

Harry Kewell, having played for Leeds United and Liverpool in the English Premier League and Turkish club Galatasaray in the past, announced that he will retire from professional football on April 12.
35-year-old Kewell, who is regarded as one of the most important players in Australian football, said that he was sorry to end his career but his family took priority. However, he felt honoured to end his professional football career as a captain.
Former Australian international Harry Kewell shone in Leeds United, one of the Premier League's leading teams of the past, where he scored 52 goals in 212 matches. In 2003 he moved to Liverpool where the Australian winger helped "the reds" to win the UEFA Champions League and UEFA Super Cup in 2005. In 2008, Turkish club Galatasaray signed him on a free transfer where he became the fans' favorite. He scored 34 goals in 91 matches for Istanbulite giants Galatasaray during three seasons. In 2011, he returned to Australia, when Kewell was signed by Melbourne Victory before heading to Qatari club Al-Gharafa and now he is playing for Australia's Melbourne Heart.
