ANKARA
English Premier League team Manchester City's Argentine defender Martin Demichelis extended his contract with for another year Thursday.
The English club stated on its website that 34-year-old Demichelis inked the deal keeping him at City until the end of the 2015-16 football season.
Demichelis is the sixth Man City player to renew his contract this season. Sergio Aguero, Joe Hart, Vincent Kompany, Samir Nasri and David Silva each signed contract extensions at the club.
The experienced Argentine player has played in 30 matches, including 22 Premier League games, this season.
During his career, Martin Demichelis played for Argentine club River Plate, German giants Bayern Munich and two Spanish teams Malaga and Atletico Madrid.
Capped 44 times for Argentina, Demichelis was a part of the Argentina squad that advanced to the final stage in 2014 World Cup.
