England National Football Team captain Wayne Rooney is about to play for his country for the 100th time.
If Manchester United veteran Rooney plays against Slovenia in the UEFA Euro 2016 qualifier game on Saturday, this will be his 100th international appearance.
Talking to British newspaper the Daily Mail on Wednesday, the 29-year-old forward said, "To get 100 caps for England, there’s not many players who have done it – would be a great achievement. I’ll be proud to join that club and is something that myself and my family would be honored by."
"I could sit here saying I’ve got 200 caps and 100 goals for my country, but the ultimate is to win a trophy and that’s what we all want to do," he added.
Legendary former England midfielder, Sir Bobby Charlton, will give Rooney his golden cap before the Slovenia match.
Sir Bobby was an essential member of the England team which won the World Cup in 1966.
