Peter Wright crowned William Hill world darts champion after beating Michael van Gerwen 7-3 in London

Peter Wright became the world darts champion after beating Michael van Gerwen 7-3 in London on Wednesday evening.
The 49-year-old Scotsman achieved his title dream in the PDC 2020 World Darts Championship, six years after beaten by van Gerwen in the final.

World number 7, Wright managed to defeat world's number 1 van Gerwen, 30, after a dominant display at the Alexandra Palace.
Wright won the Sid Waddell Trophy and £500,000 ($657,500) reward.
