UEFA ordered Russia's CSKA Moscow to play their next three European competition home games behind closed doors on Friday owing to supporter incidents in the UEFA Champions League.
According to UEFA.com, the UEFA disciplinary committee sanctioned CSKA Moscow because of Russian supporters' racist behavior, crowd disturbance and the hurling of fireworks onto the pitch during the UEFA Champions’ League Group E match against Roma on September 17 in Italy. In addition to playing behind closed doors for the next three UEFA games, the Russian club has been fined €200,000.
Moreover, CSKA Moscow will be unable to sell tickets to their fans for the next two away matches in the Champions’ League group phase.
UEFA disciplinary committee also imposed Ukrainian club Dnipro a fine of €24,000 and a one-match partial stand closure today as fans of the Ukrainian team chanted racist remarks, unfurled prohibited banners, ignited fireworks and pointed lasers at the opponent team's players throughout the UEFA Europa League game against Italian side Inter on September 18.
It also ordered Dnipro to hang a "No to Racism" banner on the closed part of their stadium for the upcoming home game.
