After Hikmet Karaman, who was the trainer until a short while ago, got sacked, Bursaspor was in search of a new trainer, and started to carry out negotiations with Daum.
Deputy Chariman of Bursaspor Ridvan Sen, member of board Yuksel Colak, and general director Ayhan Barisci came togethet with Daum in Spain, and saw eye to eye with Daum.
Daum and his technical team will be in Bursa city, western Turkey, to pen the offical contract on August 14.
Daum was the trainer of Turkish Football Club Besiktas between 1994-95 and 2000-01. He won the Turkish Cup in 1994 and 1994–95 Turkish league championship title with Besiktas.
Between 2003-2006, Daum was the head coach at Fenerbahce. Daum won two consecutive Turkish league championships in 2004 and 2005.
Daum also led many high profile German teams.
