Canadian athlete Damian Warner broke an Olympic record in men's decathlon on Thursday.

Warner scored 9,018 points at the Tokyo 2020 Games to seal the first Olympic gold for Canada in men's decathlon.

World record holder Kevin Mayer from France bagged the silver medal with 8,726 points, while Ashley Moloney of Australia won bronze with 8,649.
