ANKARA
Bayern Munich's German midfielder Mario Gotze has reportedly praised Barcelona's Argentine star Lionel Messi, saying no competitor will be able to match him.
Bavarian giants' ace Gotze was reported in the German press on Thursday as saying: "Messi achieved many remarkable successes in his career and he set the bar so high that no one will be able to reach that level."
Emphasizing that Messi's performance had increased in recent days, Gotze stated: "In some matches you may reach these levels, but it is very hard to maintain."
The globally famous star scored 34 goals in 32 matches this season and has produced 20 assists for Barca.
