Turkey have been eliminated by Lithuania in the 2014 FIBA Basketball World Cup quarterfinals after losing 73-61 in Barcelona on Tuesday.
Lithuanian guard Renaldas Seibutis scored 19 points in total, hitting 100 percent of his three-pointers. Shooting guard Martynas Pocius contributed 13 points and Toronto Raptors center Jonas Valanciunas added a "double-double" (12 points and 13 rebounds).
Forward Kerem Gonlum was the top scorer for Turkey, scoring 13 points. He also grabbed 9 rebounds. Point guard Ender Arslan added 12 points and New Orleans Pelicans center Omer Asik had 11 points and 10 rebounds.
Lithuania benefitted from a significant 28-point contribution from the bench while the Turkish substitutes managed to score a mere six. Moreover, Lithuania scored 10 three-pointers, whereas Turkey missed 15 out of 18 three-point shots.
Lithuania will face the winners of United States vs. Slovenia in the semifinals.
