ANKARA
Atletico Madrid won the UEFA Europa League title after defeating Marseille 3-0 on Wednesday evening.
The match at Lyon's Stade des Lumieres saw a dominant Spanish side, developing a 1-0 lead at the half, thanks to a goal by French striker Antoine Griezmann.
Griezmann then added another goal to his tally in the 49th minute to give his team a comfortable 2-0 lead.
Marseille wasted some opportunities to get back in the game, with Atletico controlling the pace.
Gabi's goal in the 89th minute sealed the deal for Atletico, as they have to make more space in their trophy cabinet.
Atletico Madrid have won the UEFA Europa League final two times before tonight, in 2010 and 2012.
No French team has ever won the Europa League title.
