Asian Cup 2019: Host UAE beat Australia to reach semis
UAE to face Qatar on Tuesday in the semifinals

ISTANBUL
The host the United Arab Emirates (UAE) beat Australia 1-0 on Friday to advance to the semifinals in the 2019 AFC Asian Cup.
In the quarterfinal match in Abu Dhabi, UAE's Ali Mebhut scored the sole goal in the 68th minute.
On Tuesday, UAE will face Qatar in the semifinals.
Qatar defeated South Korea 1-0 on Friday to advance to the semifinals in the 2019 AFC Asian
Qatar advanced to the semifinals for the first time by beating two-time champion South Korea.
On Monday, Japan and Iran will meet in the other semifinal.
The final match will be on Feb. 1.
The 2019 AFC Asian Cup is the men's football championship of Asia organized by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC).
The 17th edition of the AFC Asian Cup kicked off in the United Arab Emirates on Jan. 5.

Thursday, Jan. 24:
China - Iran: 0-3
Vietnam - Japan: 0-1
Friday, Jan. 25:
South Korea - Qatar: 0-1
UAE - Australia: 1-0
