Former champions Argentina qualified for the 2022 FIFA World Cup tournament on Tuesday.

Argentina, who were the 1978 and 1986 World Cup champions, drew with 2022 World Cup's South American (CONMEBOL) qualifiers leaders Brazil 0-0 at home.

The goalless draw, however, took Lionel Messi led-Argentina to Qatar 2022.

Second-placed Argentina bagged 29 points in 13 matches in the CONMEBOL qualifiers.

Brazil won World Cup titles in 1958, 1962, 1970, 1994, and 2002, and have already booked their place at the 2022 World Cup. They have 35 points in 13 matches.

The best four nations in South America directly seal their places for the World Cup, while the fifth-placed nation will qualify for an intercontinental playoff to earn a spot in Qatar.

Meanwhile, Uruguay were stunned by Bolivia 3-0.

Juan Carlos Arce scored twice and Marcelo Moreno netted one goal against Uruguay.

Bolivia were down to 10 men in the 75th minute as Carmelo Algaranaz was sent off.

Besides, Ecuador, Colombia and Peru are in the top five ranks in the South American qualifiers.

Ecuador have 23 points to come third in the 10-team qualifiers. Colombia and Peru have 17 points each.

Sixth-placed Chile, and Uruguay have 16 points.

Following the 3-0 win, Bolivia are now in the eighth spot with 15 points to challenge upper ranks.
