Apple reportedly developing AI-powered wearable pin
Camera, microphone-equipped device said to be in early development, with possible launch in 2027
ISTANBUL
Apple is developing an AI-powered wearable pin equipped with cameras and microphones to capture a user’s surroundings, according to a report Thursday by The Information.
The device is reportedly said to be roughly the size of an AirTag, featuring a thin, flat circular design with an aluminum and glass casing.
The rumored AI pin is expected to feature a standard and a wide-angle lens, along with three microphones, a speaker, a physical side button and wireless charging support.
The device is still in the early stages of development and could be introduced as early as 2027, with Apple aiming to manufacture as many as 20 million units at launch, according to the report.
Other technology companies are also moving into AI-focused hardware, with OpenAI working on a device led by former Apple designer Jony Ive, targeted for release in 2026.
An earlier AI Pin developed by US startup Humane has failed and is no longer supported.
