U.S. Vice President Joe Biden assured his support to Ukraine newly-appointed Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk over a phone call on Thursday, where he expressed his appreciation with Ukraine's new government.
According to a statement issued by the White House, Biden said that the formation of Ukraine’s new government is an important opportunity to ensure not only peace, stability and unity in Ukraine, but also a recovery in the confidence of the people before the presidential elections, scheduled for May 25.
Biden also stated that the U.S. will support Ukraine as it undertakes reforms to restore the country's economic situation, pursues reconciliation, and approves its international obligations.
