UNITED NATIONS
UN Security Council extended the duty term of United Nations peacekeeping force in the Golan Heights for another six months.
UN said Thursday that the resolution was adopted in an unanimous voting, and the Council extended the mandate of the UN Disengagement Observer Force (UNDOF), which monitors the 1974 disengagement accord between Syria and Israel after their 1973 war, until 31 December 2013.
Until the decision of Austria to pull out their forces, there were about 911 troops under UNDOF.
Previously Croatia and Japan pulled out their forces due to security problems in the region.
